Hi I want to add a sump to a rio 240 tank thats on top of its original stand. For anyone who doesnt know, the tank is divided into 6 x 30cm cube sections. Each section has a removeable shelf so it can be 3 x 60highx30x30.

If i modified the cabinet, I would remove the 2 vertical supports inside the cabinet and rotate them 90 degrees to have them behind the doors, possibly cut them down to half the width, so you can get past them.

Or I could always leave the stand alone, and work on designing a split sump.

What are your ideas??
Does anyone have any pictures/links to a similar project??

It would be easier for you to make one continuous sump but I have seen sumps that were split into multiple sections and had large PVC pipes running between the sections. I do not have any pictures or examples...

I would just be careful removing any supports. Those stands are probably made out of press wood and may become unstable if you change them around.
