simple diy 55 gal canopy and rebuild of stand

i bought this tank used off clist a wile ago and did not pay att to the wood work before paying for it . when i got it home this is what it looked like

not to bad but to plain for me . the wife also did not like the color so we decided to re stain it to a little darker color but wanted to do something way different so it stands out . now wile looking at all the wood to make sure none was going to half to be replaced i found mold and soft spots and then found that the canopy was made with all press wood . so here is is now 175.00 latter my redone stand and custom built canopy .
P.S i live in apt building so all i could use is a hand saw and drill

let me know what you thank

That is beautiful! Nice job!!

I bought my tank/stand off of Craigslist too. Although mine didn't come w/ a canopy. Of course, if it did, I would have no choice but to steal your design! lol Eh, minus the moldings though. I would have probably etched a sillouette of a deer head in the center of the canopy and used antlers for handles... reason, my husband is an avid hunter.
