Styrofoam or Polystyrene?

Styrofoam or Polystyrene? Which of these would be best for making a DIY aquarium background? I can get hold of polystyrene easy and it's cheap.

Hi if you got plenty of polystyrene then perhaps that would make the sensible choice? You can practice on it till you are happy then do a final background?

This is true.. But would it have the same effect? I have a fear that if i was to make a polystyrene one that it would get damaged more easily.
