Was at my local tire store the other day and noticed a 10 gal tank in the corner with a few fish in it. The owner has kept it there for several years and the fish looked well kept. So I was INSPIRED to build a better one!
After working out many issues with public display, add space , ease of use and different tire sizes (yep it’s a real tire) here is what I've got done so far.
Can’t give out to many details here but
16 Gal +/- .5 gal
Tire size is 20" id
Light will be on timer (custom build)
Canister filter that will run a Reverse undergravel filter (want to keep gravel cleaning down to a min)
Inline heater
No live plants
the face of the tank will have a fake rim look (very little profile)
the bottom space will have room for a rim
Now a question I have been working on and I'll ask you guys/gals what you think.
SHOULD THE TIRE ROTATE? It will add over $200+ to the build and some safety issues that would have to be addressed.
as a side question I know what it will cost and my time but what do you think I could get for this completed item?
More pictures of the completed tank in the near future.
