Tube extension for filter

This is my idea to improve my filter's efficiency. It would be made from 1/2 inch pvc. Do you think it would help filter the other side of the more? Sorry for the rough sketch lol. Id cut about 5 holes in it

Would it have enough power to keep a high suction over that space? Just a thought maybe you might loose some power by adding more holes to the intake, then if the suction was to suffer it would become pointless. Would a simpler improvement be to make to outflow directional so it creates a circular motion with the water around the tank. Almost recreating a powerhead. This way the water from the other side to the intake would flow nicely to the intake?

Im not sure because its a 50 aquaclear in a 29 gal tank
