vinyl tubing question

Is the clear vinyl tubing sold by the foot in the hardware store OK to use in an aquarium? It's nice to be able to buy it at the length I want, and it's a lot cheaper. I'm making a custom 3d background and want to fit some tubing into it 'just in case' so if I want to add airstones or whatnot I won't have to do any tearing down.

Yeah, I use some on one of my canisters. Probably a good idea to rinse it out real well, but otherwise, perfectly safe (at least in fw... can't say with confidence that the same is true for sw).

Thanks. It's going to be FW anyway but I'd assume it would be OK for SW too. At least, I don't remember seeing separate kinds of tubing at the LFS.

About to start applying the marine resin!
