I will keep my fingers crossed for you. When I ordered from them last fall, everything died, even the corals, most were misidentified as well. I hope you fare much better.

Although I don't know what kind of frags they have, GARF has a 2 for 1 deal going now on softies and SPS. Might be something to look into... Hope the corals arrive in good shape and you are happy with them...will be waiting on pics.

Yep. Dont worry. When I do posts like this I document everything. U should see what I did for ffexpress order I got last fall.
PS. I really miss ffexpress. Its like a huge hole in my heart exists since they had been swallowed up by the retail machine.

Here are two of the corals out of the bags and sitting on the bottom of a bucket. the bucket i used was an Instant Ocean 200 gal salt mix bucket.
The first photo is the Porites xmas tree coral and the second photo is the sarcophyton leather.

Here are the three mushroom types. They are all rather small and right now I cant really tell from the photos what is what. I think the one on the tonga branch is the red shroom. But the other two I cant remember from the shape of the rock.

So, initially are you pleased?
The sarcophyton is actually a lobophytum, IMO, and those are definitely star polyps.

Yes, I wish the mushrooms would have been a little bit larger. Most are the size of a man's pinky thumbnail. But at the same time they are small from shipping so we will see over the next few days how they open up.

Well they are in the tank now. Lights are off for now. I probably will turn them on just a short period before they would normally turn off.
One thing I did notice. I have what appear to be three crabs/shrimp (not sure as i only saw the front two claws and eyes) in the portes xmas tree rock. They appear to be living in the hard coral skeliton. From initall sightings I dont think they are mantis as one claw is bigger than the other. The right claw. They appear to be a green striped kind of color.
Any idea what hitchiked in on this? No I cant get pic right now. Maybe when lights come back on.

More info on the hitchiker. The claw is white with stripes running the lengh of it. The body from what I can see appears a darker yellowish green color.

Porites coral has a crab that lives symbioticly with it. They look similar to a mantis, but they are not. They will poke their head out of the hole and when you look at it , they will shoot back in. They are harmless and I dont think they even leave the coral. I have personally seen that crab on a porites at the LFS and I said, hey, you got a mantis. They straightened me out though. I watched the crab, he was quite entertaining.

Do you mean you have not read it yet, or it is not covered in the book?
