another nock for Big Al.
well, I placed an order online with Big Al's on the 19th of Nov via their website.
on the 24th of Nov, I had not recieved any updates on the order via email, so I called them
the person I spoke with barely spoke english, but basicly told me to call back tomorrow, late.
so I called back several times, late, on the 25th and was quickly and permantly put on hold the 3 times I tried. (waited about 15 min per call)
so I called back on the 26th in the afternoon and spoke with someone who informed me that the pump I selected was back ordered, so I told them to wait on the pump and ship the rest. she informed me they'd ship out tomorrow and I would receive a tracking number once it cleared customs.
so I call again today, and was told my order was being processed in the warehouse and would be shipping in a few days...
I told them to cancel the order.
First impressions are KEY - Big Al, my first impression of you is terrible - I will not be recommending your company to anyone, and will not shop with you again.

Man, I'm sorry, but I'm glad I'm not alone. Still waiting on 2 items from my 11/11 order!

Good thread here.
I was just about to place an order with them, my first, and am curious if they are a decent retailer.
The thing that strikes me as odd is that they do not list any address info. I was always warned never to deal with anyone who does not list an address (PO Boxes are unacceptable) and a direct phone number (800 numbers are easy to get).

Xd_xp...I'm going to have to issue you a warning. Spell Check is still free around these parts.

Final two pieces shipped yesterday, or so they say. Of course they cannot provide me a tracking number for a couple of days. What kind of hillbilly (no offense to those who, like me, are hillbillies) system do you have that shows an item shipped, but cannot show the tracking number.
Last time I will ever use these yahoos (is this copywrite infringement?) to order anything. Price be ****ed, It took over three weeks to ship an item they said usually ships same day on their website.
My adivce: Pay the extra cash and use someone good. I think monkeys could run a business better, and not those smart monkeys you see that learn sign language, we're talking about the bottom of the barrel, drooling, half blind, lobotomized monkeys used for research.

yea - I'm sure their retail operation is great - any they're trying to use that reputation to build an online store - but I think that is the wrong way to do it
it's almost like big al's started selling online as an experiment, and really does not want it to take off too much.

Just my $0.02 worth. I've used BigAl's 3 times in the 6-8 months. Most recent order was last week. I have not had a problem with them. They aren't my first choice (hate their web site and it's sketchy search engine), but they have shipped what I ordered and it's always arrived within a few days.
