Anyone have experience with aquaticarts.com

I was going to order some rabbit snails from them and I wanted to know what experiences people have had with them (especially ordering in the winter)

I recently ordered fish, shrimp, and plants from them. Never again.

Simple communication about when the order would ship was terrible. The package was supposed to be sent 2 day priority. On the second day I was told 'oh, one more day should be fine'. Late the third day it arrived. The fish and shrimp were single bagged, very little water which at this point was incredibly cold and dirty. The were a number of DOAs but I didn't want to go thru the hassle of trying to get a refund.

I had added on a small plant package which wasn't shipped. I'm still waiting to hear back from them about that.

The two day priority took 4 days -_- So here's a time line. Order was placed on December 17th. Order was shipped on the 20th. Order did not arrive until December 24th! So on the second day I had my mail held at the post office like they suggested. And the package wasn't there. Second day, same story. Package was finally there in the third day. They had a bunch of insulation in the box but no heat packs...really? Anyways the bags felt kinda cold and all the snails were in their shells. I drip acclimate them for an hour and put em in the tank. On the 25th they were still in their shells and not a single snail came out. On the 26th I left for Christmas vacation. So I instructed my house keeper to feed half an algae wafer every other day. I called my housekeeper who days she hasn't seen any snails out of their shells. I'm finally returning home tomorow so I guess I'll decide if they're dead or not.

In all fairness, that's really the worst possible time to order life animals.. the entire month of december really...

That's a good point. I few places I order from regularly either stopped shipping before the holidays because of delays or would only do overnight. I did 4 online orders in December and this was the only one I had problems with.

They are going to send the plants that were missing though, so I do appreciate that.

Wow I was thinking of ordering some CPD's from them but I may rethink that.

They shouldn't have been shipping live stuff that close to Christmas. We had ridiculously long delays leading up to Christmas. That doesn't excuse the poor communication though.

I've only ever had great experiences. Any emails are answered within a day, sometimes in hours. I adore the insulation, blown cellulose is awesome for regulating temps and keeping everyone safe. My last order was zebra thorn nerite, blue velvet shrimp, hornwort, algae tablets, otocinclus (they specify tank raised and I believe it, they will literally eat from my hand), cholla and cuttlebone. My only complaint is they used my PayPal email (an account I don't actively monitor) instead of my registered email for shipping info. NBD, now I know. About a week in and not a single oto from them has looked or acted the least distressed. The blue mystery snail from an earlier order is doing great as well.

Two kinds of fish, four kinds of snails, single type of shrimp and moss in this box.
