:::bump:::

I have come across aquatraders.com while researching lighting for my future 29 gallon planted aquarium. I emailed a question about one of their products and recieved a helpful response 2 days later.

I would also like to know if anyone has had any experience with this vendor?

Thanks!
Rachel

I have ordered and received a 48inch PC light with moon lights. Have had it for about a month and so far it is working great. I got my order right on time.

Did have one bulb broken but the packaging from the manufacturer was the problem not them. Lights still working, well not now I took tham apart to pu on a 29 gallon in a hood instaed of the setup they have it in. All in working condition though.

I ordered a canister filter and a 10 gal acrylic tank. I was very satisfied with what I bought. I have heard good and bad about their lights. If you have something specific you are buying then post what it is. Maybe you will get advice from someone that bought the same item.

I was thinking about buying from them too but I went with the LFS for my coral life T5 slim setup. They do have some good deals on there though.

I'm interested in the 36" 192w PC fixture. Anyone had any experience with this? What about a 36" T5 fixture?

yeah i got a pc light fixture 48in and ballest blew out way to much for my liking, like 3times i think did like the fact that the atnics were on seperated ballasts and it came with some led moon lights. they did replace all ballasts and i didnt need a dime more for shiping but it was a pain in the *** when the differant ballasts were out, i wouldnt say it was there problem id blame the chinese they buy from for the bad quality but excelent costomer service.

They have a distribution contract with JEBO/Odyssea (a Chinese manufacturer) to sell in the US markets. The products are mostly junk, poorly made and my recommendation is to avoid them.

If you dare disassemble or study their products in any detail you will learn that they truly cut every corner in production and quality to get you those prices. Lots of cheap plastic, rough edges, and pieces that don't quite fit together.

However, if you are not demanding or picky about your hardware, and are just looking for a short-term fix, they have filters and lights that "work", and some on this board are happy with them.

IME with this company, you are really getting what you pay for. Low quality, shorter life products, but probably on target for the price.

It's kind of a hit or miss deal with them at times.

Definitely cross off metal halide lighting (anyone wanting that from them), that's the most common product they have that catches fire, stops working, etc.

If you need the lighting for a side thing, or for a semi planted tank, they're good...but I wouldn't trust them.

Personally, i'm ordering a few filters and lighting systems from them when I start breeding fish and selling plants.
