I just got my first order in from Big Al's today. It was an Eheim canister and a test kit, and they both came in just three days after I ordered them. I have since ordered some other items, like Tahitian moon sand. The shipping kills me but it's actually a better price than the nearest FS even with the shipping on 80 lbs of moon sand!

<chiming in a little late> If I read this thread before I recently ordered from Big Al's I wouldn't have. But I was satisfied with my experience. Took three days for the time I placed my order online until it arrived which is the same amount of time it took PetSmart.com. I placed an order with each company at the same time and they both arrived the same day. They both ship out of Niagara NY. Big Al's still has software problems, the website has a arrival date field on your account page but its actually the ship date and they still don't display the ups tracking number but they did give it to me when I called to inquire about it.

In all fairness-
I used Big Als again recently (free dollars to spend there), and was pleasantly surprised in the speed they sent it to me. You will notice, they have redone the site, and maybe that dog and pony show they were selling us was true, but boy it used to be awful. I got all of my stuff in about 5 days, so not bad. We'll see...

I will stick with ordering from petsolutions.com and DrsFosterSmith.
MAYBE the prices are higher but you get what you pay for.
Both places are amazing.
No problems at all and fast shipping.
My order from petsolutions came from Ohio to South Carolina in 3 days.

I love bigalsonline ..... never had a problem. Customer service is wonderful and I have never waited forever for my order. The prices are just wonderful!!! The only drawback is that they don't carry everything I am looking for.
I just ordered something from thatpetplace ... we'll see if they compare!
Sorry some have had problems, but my opinion -- for what it is worth -- if that bigals is great!

They also have a discount program - spend so much and get 25.00 or up off. I think I have 170 pts so far. I love their prices!!!

I just made an order with them and I'm a little disappointed. They separated my order and shipped it on different days.

I guess noone is perfect. I just recently purchased a double light strip and it was fast and painless. I will use them again for my other aquatic needs.

I just received my order from Big Al's yesterday. Fast shipping and great customer service. I would definately recommend them to anyone. This was my third order from them and have not had any problems whatsoever.

Ok, I posted that in haste as I was impatient to get my tank set up. So I will amend the above to say that I was very pleased with my experience.
Best of all, I purchased a Fluval 404 for $90.00. Just try to get a better price for this item anywhere...you won't.

Just got my 4th order from BigAls.com and again a super experience. Excellent prices and they will match and subtract 5 % on any advertised price on the internet. Just ordered a eheim filter for my second 90 gal tank, and they matched a price that was 30 dollars cheaper. You have to call them for a price match. Highly recommended vendor.
