Bobs Tropical Plants
Has anybody ordered fish from Bobs Tropical Plants? I'm thinking of ordering a scarlet badis but I've seen both good and bad reviews about this site. I would use the USPS priority mail to ship if anyone has experience with that too. Thanks

I haven't bought from Bob's because the shipping to where I live is insane. Make sure you check on it if you haven't already.
USPS hasn't given me any bad experiences but it is really case dependent. (the driver i have is cool, others arent so fortunate)

I've had a great and horrible with them. My great everything arrived alive and well packed. My horrible was I ordered a lemon tetras and all but one where dead on arrival and it was two day shipping in April. They refunded me for three of the 11 I ordered. But than again it is hit or miss with shipping

Yeah thats what I'm afraid of. I would only do the priority because it is the cheapest. And being in VA, California is pretty far away.

I've ordered from him twice and each time I had DOAs or missing plants and it took him a long time to get back to me. I did get a refund, but not for shipping.

Look for sites that have a base of operations in Cali so it will be more probable that you will get a cheaper price and a higher live arrival rate.

Better yet you can see if your LFS has what you want or you can is ask if they could order them for you, they are usually pretty chill and can get some with their next shipment of fish.
I believe liveaquaria has good customer service and has high live arrival rates, might want to check them out.

Bob's is based out of cali, near LA if I recall correctly, unless he moved. Used to talk to Kristian all the time, haven't spoken to him in a year or more now.

I would but I only have petsmart and petco around. Liveaquaria.com is to pricey for minimum amount and shipping for me.

I ordered from them three times in December: fish, shrimp, and plants. Absolutely no problems! I actually have another order coming later this week.

There is. If you can find what you are looking for in a local location go for it, if not, you could try Bobs. I am sure if you have the receipt and document it they would give you a refund for DOA.

In December I did Priority Express twice and FedEx once.
I also ordered from an online site located in IN and those poor fish and shrimp arrived in terrible condition.
It's definitely a tough time of year for those of us who live in cold weather areas.

I had posted questioning it too because of mixed reviews and a bunch of people messaged me with negative reviews and not positive ones. I had never ordered online and I wanted to make sure I was making a good choice. While not my personal experiences the complaints I got were the same- missing/different items and dead animals they did get the stuff eventually but one person said it took about 4 months of constant asking to get the correct live things they had ordered
Have you checked the classifides here?? Definitely post with what you are looking for.
