Comments on Darin from Captive Reefs

I know nothing about lighting for corals, so I sent Darin (CaptiveReefs.Com) a PM, he responded, I responded, ect..ect.. He sent me his Phone number at 11:30pm and said I could call him. I called him, he cleared up some things for me, and explained lighting questions that I had, and has offered me a great deal. I hope to be able to get lights from him soon, and I will def. buy from him when I do. Hats off to Darin! Class Act!

When I bought my Aqua FX Barracuda through Darrin I was similarly impressed. Great service Darrin.

I have bought bulbs from Darin (Captive Reefs) twice before and had excellent service. So, I called him when I needed a ballast and reflector. we had numerous conversations, I couldn't make up my mind. I finally spent half of what I intended to and Darin never tried to get me something I didn't want for more money. Not your typical salesman, he actually cares.

GIving you his phone number at 11:30pm rings high marks for me about going above and beyond. Course he is 1 hour less than us on the east cost. (I think, maybe two... BUt still)

i ordered my lights for my 90 from darin and he was great....he was very helpful, answered all my questions, and did not try to push anything on me that I didn't need. I just purchased a new skimmer from him for the tank as well, and once again he was very helpful and seemed to care more about me getting what I wanted and needed rather then trying to push something on me so he could make a quick buck.

I just got my mag 9.5 from him and I have to say that's a BIG pump. Sure wasn't prepared for that.

I too ordered an Aqua C skimmer from Darrin and have had many many emails and calls to him as well and he has always been great!! Im glad to have done business with him and will do more in the future!!

Well, I might as well chime in too. I had purchased some items from him also just before the end of the month. I was very happy with the pricing and the delivery was really fast. Of course from what I heard through the forums that is to be expected from Captive Reefs...I will be doing much more business with him for sure. This was the first time I purchased from Captive Reefs, and it was a pleasure.

All I can say is WOW. Got my light, (had to put the bulbs back in due to shipping), hooked everything up and had concerns with the brightness of 1 side, well Darrin not only was prompt in answering my emails and questions, he even emailed me a picture of the lights on so I could determine if I had a problem with my bulbs. It's a beautiful fixture, moonlights are great. And my anemones love it. 20 min after putting the new light on they perked right up. Wished I had known about these lights before I bought the others I have on my other tanks.
