I really have been satisfied with Fosters & Smith...great prices/shipping/customer service...I have a tip for you all if you didn't already know...Do NOT THROW ANY of your catalogs from them away...what is on sale in one catalog may not be advertised on sale in another, but it is STILL on sale until the expiration date of the catalog, which is as of now...4-30-09...as long as you can give them the catalog number...they have to sell you the merchandise listed in it as the price listed...I don't know which 48" Nova Pro you wanted, but in the catalog early last summer it listed one at $429.99 (Extreme Pro)...they have gone up on all their prices so even on sale, you may pay more now. I got all my stuff from the old catalog from early last summer and saved bundles...just keep those and compare...

Good Luck

www.fishtanksdirect.com I already got a good deal with them on there website they have the Nova Extreme Pro 48" 6 bulb for $345 with free shipping better than anyone else on the net. I actually emailed them about there price online being so high but the guy is going to hook me up with that deal.

I have no issues with drfostersmith they have good deals on alot of there stuff especially there salt mix. I was just upset they couldn't work out a deal for the nova extreme pro 48 inch 6 bulb fixture. Which they never put it on sale. I kind of thought they would have been nice enough to even give like 10% off. I even emailed them serveral different website's with all the different prices on the same unit and showed them proof of other online retailers that were cheaper. They still did not budge on there price. I guess they are very firm with there pricing no matter want. As being manager to a former retail store thats bad business. IMO... but all well I guess we got make that money anyway we can.

I wasn't sticking up for F&S....those really big Companies with lost of investors and shareholders don't deal like the smaller, family-owned retailers...sad too...I just was trying to help you guys find your lights...glad you found them.

Saved quite a bit

I just purchased about $300 worth of goods that included 150# of gravel. Total order was shipped in 4 boxes Fed Ex Home delivery for $17.

I call that a deal.

Great prices

I just ordered about $150 with Big Als for shipment to south Texas. With their coupon shipping was $3. Prices were about 40-50 percent better that local LFS, Petsmart or Petco.

Dr. F&S rocks. I ordered some bulbs a while back, 2 days after installing one blew. Called them up and they had me a new bulb in three days, no questions asked. i didnt have to send the broken bulb back or go through any hassles. Sometimes its worth it to pay a little more, they are still like 30-40% cheaper than my LFS, even after shipping.

Yes they are cheaper but when it comes to try to work out a deal when another online retailer is cheaper than them they would gladly say no and not work anything out for you. That's all I am simply stating.
