not trying to be rude, I just dont think you can blame other people for your own mistake, it clearly said not for salt water.

This brand is junk. When I was more ignorant I bought a protein skimmer made by them and it was the biggest peice of junk.

I think it's best to leave all personal remarks out of post, and stick to the facts, and trying to help each other. After all we are all trying to be one happy family!

I have ordered from them twice and was very happy. If it said not for saltwater, I would have definantely checked more into it. I really wouldn't give up, this type of stuff can happen to the best of us.

My guess is the heater was defective and this matter should be brought up with the manufacture.
As far as blaming DrFS, that is going too far. There are many members on this site that are satisfied DrFS customers. If you wish to complain about their customer service, do so in the General Retail section.
I am going to lock this post for the evening.

Dr Fosters and Smith is one of the largest if not the largest online retailer of pet supplies including aquarium supplies. Why the heater had not for saltwater use is beyond me. A heater is a heater unless it was made of a metal that was not resistant to saltwater I dont see why one would be for SW and one would be for FW.

CHeap heaters have a very bad rep for having the themostat stick in the on position and thats what happend. DrF&S had nothing do to with your heater sticking in the on posoition.

Reguarless of how mad you are about this we do have rules here at AA and all members are expected to follow them. We WILL remain a website where parents feel comfortable about having their children visit.
