He delivered it to St.Louis for 50 bucks. But he said he could have shipped it frieght for 125. Either way, the total price was still a great deal. Send him a email if you have questions. Great guy, easy to deal with. I cant say enough about how nice the solid oak stands and canopys are.

I would like to hear michealprater's views on their finish work. I trust his opinion and if he says the seams are nice and clean then they are nice and clean AFAIK.

There finish work is really good. You may have to remove a little bit a silicon, but not much. I did not have to remove any, they are nicer than all glass. They also now offer saphire. And there price, well, bottom line is, there is no custom tank makers that can compete.

Ms Harper, Not being one to point fingers but it seems very clear that your direct intent is to post about 'poor builders' and it seems farly clear that you feel glasscages is one of them. While everyone is privliged to their opinion I have to say your view seems unfounded to me based upon the comments of other members here whom have gotten tanks or seen tanks built by glasscages.

Do you have links from other glasscages customers whom feel the same way as you? If so I would be interested in seeing those posted here so we can all have the same basis of info to build our opinons on.

Here is a first hand account - I went to the Reptile Expo in Manassas this weekend. Glasscages was there and I saw exerything from the stands and canopies, to 10 and 240 gallon aquariums and everything in between. THey had aquariums with no overflows as well as built in overflows. The work in general was very clean, I didnt see any flaws in the glass or silicone globs, and the glass on the larger aquariums is very thick. The stands and canopies were built well. Nothing fancy, but in my opinion the stand and canopy shouldnt take away from the tank.

Before leaving I placed an order for a 180 wide with stand, canopy and overflows built in. The total cost was $990 and included the bulkheads. Ill let you know when they come back in june whether it was worth the expense.

Thank you for your first hand account. If I ever get the chance I would enjoy comming by your home after you have the 180 to inspect the quality first hand. I can bring my digi cam also if I remember to document the quality.
