Craig's List
Maybe so, I cannot speak for your library but the ones I have frequented do not have nude offers for sex posted.

I don't agree with the newspaper editorials sometimes but I don't take that in account on classified add deals.
I just say if you have an issue with craigslist policies that's OK.
You just miss the great deals the rest of us are finding there...

Well, sure, if you're in the "Looking for love" section. I just do searches in the "for sale" section for aquarium, fish tank, filters, stuff like that, and I've never seen any offers for sex, nude or clothed.
Way off-topic, but people will find a way to look for/at what they want. Censoring websites/books/magazines/movies pretty much never works. (look up "barbara streisand effect") Instead of telling my kid "You can't look at craigslist", I would explain that some people are looking for meaningless sex online, and that he/she should just ignore it, since most of the people are ugly and/or old. Talking about something taboo is a good way to take away the "risque-ness" of the subject.
Anyway, to each his own.

just go to the art section of the library and you can find lots of nude photo's/portraits. does that mean we shouldn't use the library for all the other information and resources? the internet has lots of pornographic sites so don't use the internet either. in fact if you are reading this you are using the internet thus being hypocritical. there is good and bad to just about everything and it's impossible to censor everything. Beaver college had to change it's name because of censored search engines would not show it's listing. people have gotten too darn sensitive and take everything personal when something is said or done and it didn't even involve or concern them. if you dont like what's being said or what you are seeing turn it off or leave.
Craigslist is great for any of us on a tight budget or who just want to get the most from their money. i save so much money on craigslist not just for aquarium needs either. you can even get a job off there to make money. i just use the for sale section and don't even know what all the other stuff on craigslist is.

yes i agree with you if you don't like what you are reading or looking at that subject go somewhere else. i get alot off craigslisting due to my tight budget.. matter of fact my whole house is furnished off craigslist but that dont make me a bad person... or anyone else you have a right to choose where you want to go on craigslisting...

Well of course you're going to find porno ads if you're looking for them on craigslist.
Here I go about to make someone mad:
First of all, we all, even porno offer-ers have the right to post ads unless they have been otherwise told they can not. It's a part of free-speech. Ya know, that pesky amendment?
Secondly, we all have the right to look or not look as we so desire.
Thirdly, did I mention that you have the freedom to look or not look. No one is forcing anyone to look at an ad they don't want to see.
Fourth-ly, again, did I mention the right to look or not look?
(Do ya see where I'm going with this?)
Ok in a nut shell.
Our basic rights in this country are that we have the right to look or not look at something we find offensive. I don't enjoy porn myself, I find annoying to say the least and I have better kinks to fill my time with, but if I'm on a site that has a porn ad, I'm not going to stop going to that site. If you don't like craigslist because there are porn ads on there, DON'T LOOK At THE ADS!!! Simple as that. So many other things to look at on craigslist.
So now I'll stop my rant before I go into something completely not for a family site

What do you mean? My mom banned me because i kept wanting to buy tanks and finding good deals and she is tired of me getting tanks. I do agree about there being more porno type adds but that is not exclusive to craiglist. Porno is now a common thing on the internet and all you can do is try to avoid it. What was your bad exp. that made you stop buying from it?
Also its easy to avoid that stuff because they have that all set in catigories.
I also think that it is a great thing for people with not much money, it opens up many oppertunities for us. I know many people that it hasen't only gotten them things like aquariums but put clothes on there backs when they had no money. I think craiglist is a very good thing. IT also works as a recycling site, you can give things away or sell them for cheap tso they don't get thrown away in a dump and someone else can use them.

lol, this is cracking me up. Craigslist has this neat little feature called "flagging". If you dont like something or feel it is innapropriate, do your part and flag it. Craigslist has provided me with lots of tanks, at a fraction of what i'd have paid in a store. Also, the little warning that says "you must be 18 to continue" usually means youre going to look at something for adults only... If you continue to look, its your own fault... and Etunes, my fiance did the same thing... i was addicted for a while, i seached for fish tanks at least 3 times a day and emailed about every single one that was a good deal lol
