Petco - Amano Shrimps Free Shipping (8 or more)

Apparently Petco has free shipping on all orders (with live fish being one of the exceptions). They sell for $2.79 each at Petco.com but shipping was outrageous if you were to buy it online,

But i noticed that if i were to purchase >7 amano shrimps, shipping became free ie. i ordered 8 x amanos total paid $24.33

For your information in case folks are interested in getting some amano shrimps but are not available in your local fish store.

Whoa... That's a good deal on amanos, and great tip about the free shipping. Amanos are hard to find in my area, and sell for almost 3x that much. I may need to order some. Thanks!

yes, please update on how they look!

I placed an order, but then I had to cancel when I realized that 1-day delivery really meant two days (1 extra day for processing), and I would not be home to get them.

I may reorder later in the week, if I can get the timing right, so would love to hear how yours do!

2 did not make it. Called Petco.com and they will resend 2 more. Pretty painless

So I got mine today, but it was... eventful. I saw the UPS driver pull up, and expected to hear him come to the door. But a minute later, he drove away! I looked all over my porch, and didn't see any package. Then I looked across the street, and saw a box sitting on the neighbor's porch. I walked over, and as I got closer, I saw the "live fish" label on the side. He delivered it to the wrong address! If I hadn't discovered it so soon, they may not have made it: it was a pretty hot day. Our house numbers are pretty clearly displayed, so there was no excuse. (The address was correct on the shipping label.) I was also surprised that a signature was not required, given the fragile contents!

One did not make it: he appeared to have molted on the trip, and did not survive the molt. And I found another molt after I moved them to the tank. (At first I thought it was another dead one.)

Another dead this morning, unfortunately, despite my drip acclimation.

Lpglizard, did you get your replacement shrimp? I had a third die, unfortunately. I requested a replacement from Petco last week. I contacted them today to see if there were any updates, and was told they were in a dispute with the vendor. According to the vendor, they will not replace if less than half die. Did you run into this issue?

They did end up offering me a replacement, but it ended up being such a hassle, I requested a refund instead, which they granted.
