Petsmart.com

I was looking on Petsmart.com for a sponge filter and i stumbled apon their aquarium water care section. I was suprised to see that they talkabout cycling and everything ive heard and read on this forum. Thy even have videos on how to do it and they sugest getting an API Master Freshwater Test Kit. All this suprised me. If only they took the time to explain this stuff in the store but still props to Petsmart.com

Its the general rule not to ask the employees at chain stores much...u do get the occasional semi- knowledgable one...I've asked if they have an aquarium if not ask online first...small and local is always a good idea

I work at a petsmart in Ohio. I'm probably the best fish guy to talk to since I'm majoring in marine biology. The way they train their employees is just the basics. Just so they know enough to sell fish but if you ask any questions about diseases or anything half of them will look at you weird since they have no clue what your talking about. Lol

My local petsmart has this one lady that I always go to. She has her own tanks and knows a lot about fish herself. Everything I've read on this site she prety much says the same.

I signed up for their emails but I guess they "forget" to send me the one that says they are having the good sales because every time I go, they have a great sale that I didn't know about and it's all gone.

My Petsmart has a knowledgeable employee...he's given us advices regarding ich meds, food and even freebies like a used thermometer and ammonia reducing filter insert (which he says he will write it off) and some aquarium salt.

I'm very lucky the petsmart by me has 3 employees that are long time fish keepers. They each have a diff knowledge base re diff fish ect. So over the last year I've pestered them all and they are always good to help out. This is great because there are no mom and pop lfs in my area
