ReefCon Pro software Review

I have written a review on the Reefcon Pro software and thought that I might also post it here as if some are like me I never really read the reviews unless I am looking for something.. So I have decided to post it here as well.. Enjoy

I have decided that I would try a Aquarium Logging software and after alot of work looking around I have decided To try ReefCon Pro despite the negative feedback about them not responding to emails.. I installed the software and had an install issue.. Emailed Support and got an answer back the next day and issue was solved.. After getting the issue fixed My first thought was WOW this is everything that I needed and wanted... I emailed back and forth a bit with the Software company about new releases ect and was informed that Ver 1.6 was going to be released.. I was able to get a copy and try that out.. WOW Even better.. There were a few slight issues that I emailed them about and they fixed the issue and sent out the updated file.. Now that was support.. Both issues were programming related and were fixed within 24hrs.. Dang wish Microsoft could do that.. I would Highly Recommend Trying this software and purchasing it if you happen to like it.. It is by far the BEST software that I have found.. If there were email issues before they are resolved now.. This company has responded to Every email I have sent them.. I give them an all out 10 on the software and support.

I actually DL'd the freeware version the other day and only got a few minute to play with it since then. The first limitation I found was when I was trying to add livestock to my tank list. It seemed like you could only add livestock that was listed in the resource DB. is this different in the pro version or was I doing something wrong?

I know that you can add livesotck outside of the Database in ReefCon Pro.. However I do not know about the freeware Reefcon software.. The Reefcon Pro software has Major differences between the freeware and it.. Try the trial Software out for the 30days... I believe that would be exactly what you are looking for... Its kinda scary It keeps track of your expenses WOW was I in for a suprise lol...

If the item you want to add isn't in the reference database you can just type the common and/or scientific names in the boxes. The lookup is just there as a convienance.

Just purchased this software

Hi

Just wanted to add my "two cents". I love computers and I'm just starting my first salt water tank.

After much surfing I found this software, installed the trial and was in love. It was exactly what I was looking for. I used the trial for about 2 weeks and decided to buy it. I read all the info on their website including the prices for the single licence and the lifetime free upgrade licence.

I was concerned about paying 40.00 for the life upgrade when I could not see much happening in the last 4 months on the site.

So I sent an e-mail to their support e-mail. I got a reply with a day explaining the 2.0 update was being posted.

I paid for the lifetime upgrades and have no regrets. Upon payment I downloaded the beta 2.0. I had installation problems with the database. I e-mailed the errors to the support email and after a few back and forth emails the problem was corrected and a patch sent out.

Thats excellant service !

If you are looking for tank software, I highly recommend this one.
