Smile That Pet Place

Hey everyone!

So I was out in Downingtown PA and figured "hey im already out in Pennsylvania so I might as well go see this place" Turns out its an hour away lol.

Anyway I arrive and its a nice store! It reminds me of a BJs for aquariums and other pet supplies! There are a lot of fish there as well! most are healthy, though I did see one or two dead/dying, but that can be expected with so many fish. They had some large discus there, some massive catfish, some massive regular fish, and lots of medium to small fish. It reminded me of a buyable aquarium.

What was also interesting was how they reserved fish for people who bought online. Two royal plecos were reserved for someone who bought online.

I arrived very late (near 9pm closing) so I barely saw most of the saltwater stuff but they had a few amazing display tanks, both sw and fresh.

Now a 2 hr drive from Jersey is more expensive than shipping, so if I buy from there I will get it shipped but it was nice to see all the fish. Some they dont advertise online, such as the Motoro Stingray.

Thats all of my long essay!

(sorry about all the pleco pictures, they are my favorite so I took a lot, never seen them before)

Adonis pleco 1st, Armored catfish top right, L014 Sunshine pleco bottom left, L047 mango pleco (I didnt know it was green!)

if you live within two hours and have never seen most of the fish on their website, you should definately look. Many people treated it as an aquarium and just go and see them. The salt water stuff was so cool (never had a sw tank lol)

Its nice putting a store and fish to all the pictures on their website. i may go back out just to see it again.

NOTE: I did not buy anything, just visited.

EDIT: oh I also saw thier dragon hi fin pleco ($200) lol I think some of the others look colorer but the fin was quite high

I didn't know That Pet Place was a real store, I thought it was only an online thing. That's very cool! I live near an aquarium adventure and everyone just goes there to look too! They even do birthday parties there. LOL

I live an hour and a half away, I always wanted to go but never ventured out. I go to Captain Nemo's for the most part. It's an hour away but its closer then That Pet Place. They even have a huge shark tank in the middle of the store. At one point they bred the shark and had the egg in a 55g clipped to the side, you could actually see the baby shark growing inside of the egg. Anyways, now I think I may have to stop by when it's time to stock my 40g

George9 do you live by Schaumburg? I've been into that one too if it's the same one. I found that sometimes you can find things there you've never seen.

I love That Pet Place and also Captain Nemo's. Seeing that I am only 30 minutes away from That Pet Place and 40 minutes from Nemo's, I am in heaven! What makes That Pet Place unique is that the staff there are so knowledgeable. It's great to be able to ask someone a question and you don't get a stock answer.

In fact, another trip is in order right after Christmas!
