Sure enough a membership gives you a warrenty on S/W livestock of 7 days. The membership to date had I kept it up for me would have added to 50 something per year for 7 years, thats not good customer relations devil lol

But my thing is why don't they tell you that since your making such a big purchase!!!

Sorry, I just got a chance to it down for a minte and not read these on my phone. I would never have shopped at that store had I not felt I was covered btw. I have been a customer at every lfs and paid and do pay membership. I understand as well that maybe I am asking him to bite $150 but 7 yrs is a long tme, I have never complained about stuff purchased there. In effect though, isnt he asking ME to bite $150?

I've never returned a fish to a store expecting a refund. I don't feel that it's the stores responsibility. If the fish dies in YOUR care, it's not THEIR fault... at least, that's my take on it. If the fish doesn't appear healthy, you shouldn't buy it. The only exception is when shipipng fish.... if the fish is DOA, it should be covered, as you're paying to have something arrive alive to your house.

I agree that they should have said something or written it on the receipt. The only way I found it at all is I checked their member benefits and there it was. I have never returned a fish either until now but this guy caught the fish with a net and damaged it, the injury was not apparent until it was dead. In view of that he was returned and yes I did expect a refund or a replacement. The young salesman was not aware of this policy obviously or he would have told me that as soon as I tried to return it don't you think? Instead he told me I was a good customer there over the years and he would check with his boss!

100% agree with Jonathan on this one. Expecting a refund for a fish, regardless of what policy may or may not have been explained to you, is pretty much just wishful thinking.
Are you sure it was damaged by the employee? A 3 hour drip on a fish is awfully long. The temperature in the drip water must have been pretty cold after those 3 hours.

I agree, I wouldn't expect a refund either, are they supposed to just take your word that it was their fault? Think of how many inexperienced people would go out and buy fish, and then expect a refund when they consequently die after. No company could survive that way. I had an employee at an lfs have trouble with netting a fish and you know what I did? I didn't buy it.
