A/C Question

I am getting an a/c unit for me and the fish tanks. would a ne a/c window 8000 btu ge unit be loud from 3 to 4 feet from where i am siting or should i get a 10000 btu and put it in another room that i dont use. Is it worth the money to buy a 10000 and cool the room where me and the tanks are alone with an unused room to aid in noise or wont it be tyhat loud?

If it's a decent unit, it shouldn't be that loud. Without knowing exactly how your home is laid out room-wise, it's impossible for us to say where you should put it.
