OK there has got to be SOME formula or something to figure this out.
Here is the pic:

Now, the distance inbetween the two holes is 14.5"

I want to stick 4 MORE holes in between those two holes, so that all the holes are evenly spaced. How far apart should I stick them from each other, and how the heck did you come up with the answer?

If it's 14 foot 5 inches = 34.6 inch spacing
It it's 14.5 inches = 2.9 inch spacing

Take the total length and divide it by the spaces between the holes. This time 5.

Sorry, Jchillin - mentallylost is correct.

The formula is x/(n-1); where x=total distance between furthest holes/points, and n=total number of holes/points.

And this from someone who detests math!

So i ts 14.5 divided by 5...

Thats 2.9, let me go see if thats logical :)

i got 2.9 aswell. Each space would be 2.9", a total of 5 spaces between 6 holes. 2.9X5=14.5

.9 = 3/4 of an inch so each hole will 2-3/4"
HTH
Im a math geek sorry.
