bacterial differences

hello all as few of you may now im going to be cycling my nano today and it got me thinking. whats the difference bewteen the sw and fw bacteria. in essence they both perform the same task is the salinty the only difference?

They do the same job... but you can't seed a sw tank with fw media and vice versa. No idea why, never really thought about it much. I just know its not possible.

ikno you cant seed with fw etc. but it made me think they do the same thing more than likely the same bacteria so why are the different
