Hi,

I got a 50 gallon fish tank and planning to set it up for salt water. The kitchen bar countertop is a perfect spot for it but I am concerned if it will hold the 600-700lbs of total weight.

Can anyone tell me if the granite can hold that weight.. Or anyway I can reinforce the granite countertop ? Attaching photos. It would look soo beautiful at this spot.

Based that its granite not necessarily supported on the bar stool side, I wouldn't do it. The support under the granite is a concern. Many do not have board like plywood under them. Then there are the cabinet bases, whether they would or could support the granite weight plus the tank.

If you were to build a base support under the overhanging granite bar stool side, and could verify what kind of support was under the other side and maybe reinforce. That isn't my area of expertise though.

Maybe a builder, engineer might have more actual beneficial advice.
