Long story short, my basement flooded a month ago. We are living in a hotel this intire time. Until, the contractors finish repairing our home. (We might be in this hotel for 6 months) I went to a pond store and bought these tablets that are a substitute to having a filter in a fish tank.
My tank: 29 gallon
Animals and plant life: pond fish and plants 1 comet gold fish and 1 albino bristle nose pleco.

My problem: We can't afford to keep the filter running in the fish tank. I had to bring my gold fish to the hotel because it had a cycst from the poor water condition. But he is living healthy in a bucket.
Today, I had notice my pleco not eating so I bright it to the hotel as well.

I have to wait until morning to know if I'm aloud to bring my fish tank in the hotel. :(

I must confess I can’t think how the tablets would substitute long-term. Do they say what they are? There are ammonia absorbers and detoxifiers but more short term.

Was also curious why filter cannot be kept running? Is it running off battery?
