Nice question for all you saltys.

I hope this thread goes smoothly, and doesn't discourage anyone from getting saltwater, but my question is. are ya ready?

How many BRAND NEW cars do you thing you could have had that are fully paid off if you didn't have a saltwater fish tank? I would say probably 1-2 for me.

None. I've spent about $250 on my tank. With livestock I doubt it'll be more than $350. Even when you count water changes, etc. it won't even come close. Just being honest.

I got a 75g, and that was with 4 years of worth of stuff, electricity, everything you need for reef tank, and upgrading equiptment. I am saving for a chiller that is 3,000. and i need 200 more till I can get my halides.

In the last 2 years on 6 tanks, with all equipment I have spent around 10k.

And that's on EVERYTHING

Maybe it's just mee then... I have gone through so many fish, and moved so many times. Also i buy good lr so you know that brings up the $$$

I'm over 2000 into the 220 and still need a skimmer, lights, rock, sand...so yeah I feel ya. Lol
