Nitrates , nitrites will NOT go down

Should I wait a few hours, I did a 70% water change in my 55 gallon and treated the water with prime.
My nitrates , nitrites are very high (85+ , 2.0 ppm) The numbers didn't go down after the water change. (Aarrggh!)
My fish seem to be absolutely fine. My eel is fine. Ammonia is at 0.
HELP!

What kind of filter are you running? How are you testing the water?

You should look into getting some SeaChem PRIME. It's good stuff!

Ok, that's actually what I have it's only been 20 or so minutes since the water change so maybe it just needs more time - glad to know it works

Hmm... Your using the good stuff. I'm baffled. What's the tap water testing at without prime?

Test it after like 12 hours and see, you can get false tests right after wcs
