Neat video I found of some time lapse photography showing part of the canal in action. The guy who made it basically did a bunch of still frame grabs over a certain amount of time and then put them all together. Neat to see it all in action...

I heard it costs a fortune for a cargo ship/ cruise liner to pass through. I know it's cheaper then sailing around south america, but it's still a bundle....anyone know how much?
 
no idea how much but I've actually been lucky enough to go through half of the canal. It was pretty neat to watch, even when the ship accidentally brushed the sides because it was so big 8O

Shooting in still frames is nice too because the actual process takes a good amount of time.

Oh, and there is awesome wildlife in the area. A crocodile actually swam near the ship, the birds and landscape is beautiful too.
