Is that real? How strange looking but looks like chain mail (sp?) battle protection.

Well I remember, when I was a little kid, (many, many years ago) my parent receiving a shellac-ed Puffer fish in it's blown round stage with the spines sticking out, from someone who traveled to a foreign country. Why? But it happened, it was around the house for years.

It was also creepy... a little interesting but creepy and very pointy.
