Sad, very very sad...

So I was at petsmart the other day, and I saw something I have never seen before. A variety of fish tanks labeled as "goldfish tanks"... some as small as 1.2 gallons! I couldn't believe it, really it just made me sick. I mean, I've seen the small betta bowls advertized and I have seen even 5 gallon tanks with pictures of angels on them, but this has to be the worst advertisement I have ever seen. The worst part was, it was sold by Aqueon, I do believe I will stop buying all aqueon products.

manufacturers are going to sell whatever they can to make money, and stay in business. It is up to store employees, and more so up to hobbyists to be educated enough not to use these products. Manufacturers don't kill fish and make them lead miserable lives, uneducated people do Stupid advertising unfortunately seems to be a way of life these days

Well I have emailed aqueon and informed them that I will no longer use nor recommend their products. The problem is, many people see these tanks and use that as their educational tool instead of educating themselves. They see fish stores and product advertisements as legitimate resources. And they don't even have to be stupid people. Very intelligent and educated people can be mislead by these sorts of things.
