Saltwater to Freshwater

Got a family friend who offered to sell me their 125g with equipment and cabinet stand for $500....
I want to pull the trigger, but i really wNt to stay in the freshwater side as i really enjoy the plants.
How difficult would it be to flush the old system and convert to a safe freshwater setup with the salt setup?

It shouldn't be too hard if you give it a good clean.

I believe she has two ehiem canister filters also. Remove the media to be replaced and flush system with hot water might do it?
Tank and set up has been sitting for over a year.

Was is sitting empty or full? Either way hot water might clean out the filter media. Depending on the condition you may just need to replace it.
If you have hard water stains or calcium stains from the saltwater you can clean it out with diluted vinegar. Just rinse the glass off really well before filling it.

Sat empty for that time if not longer. Im sure it will take some TLC to bring back to working order.
