Sea Star or Starfish?

Here is an easy one for you guys.
English is a 2nd language for me so I can get confuse with many things
I am curious about the starfish/sea star word.

Should I say Starfish or Sea Star? Are they both good? Is one better than the other?

most say starfish but either is fine.

There are scientists trying to replace starfish to sea star because they are echinoderms and not fish. I prefer sea star just as I do jelly(ies) over jellyfish, again not fish.

In french, we say Étoile de Mer which mean Sea Star.
