This is related to a post in the pic of the month... just serves to explain where these guys are, don't really care if the pic wins or not. I'm on vacation and have been out west (US), hiking etc. Found these guys in a sinkhole, on top of a rock formation at about 7000 altitude. El Malpais Natl Monument, New Mexico. Second pic isn't the same sinkhole, just gives a scenic idea of location.

Anybody know what kind of frogs these might be?

honestly, it could be a number of frogs. Did you snatch some and put them into a tnak? If not you should have. Most likely a toad though.

yeah there weren't any mature ones that I could see around these holes, but the most-developed tadpoles do have a horny-headed toad look. Keeping these guys in my car for 5 days to get back home... eh, no. Bad idea ;0
