I found a 50 gal for sale on Craigslist for $120. Included glass tank, wood stand, glass lids, and 4x39w Nova Extreme T5HO fixture w/ 3 Lunar lights. This tank will replace my 37 gal. The 22.5" height that tank was just too much for me; I think this tank will be a better fit. Plants, fish, substrate, AC 70 filter, rocks, and the driftwood from the 37 gal will all be moving into this tank. Planning on running just 2x39w for a couple of months until I can save up for a Co2 setup.

I can't wait to see what you do with it, I love your other two planted tanks.

looks great. That's a great deal, that fixture is overkill, but I bet it'll be manageable if you keep it at 2x39 like you planned.

What kind of plants are you planning?

It's a saltwater fixture. I'll have to replace the two actinic bulbs but I'm looking forward to making use of the lunar lights.

I live about 30min or so from That Pet Place, so I'll be heading over there today to see what sort of plants catch my eye. These plants from my 37 gal will be moving to this tank:

Ludwigia Replens (Broadleaf)
Crypt Lucens
Crypt Crispatula
Crypt Spiralis
Rotala Rotundifolia
Crypt Wendtii Bronze
Java Moss
Sagittara Subulata
Echinodorus amazonicus
Anubias Barteri Coffeefolia

Thank you! I'll be tearing down the 37 gal to build this one. The height of that tank is just a PIA when dealing with plants and doing related maintenance. A bit sad, but hopefully this tank looks just a good as the 37 gal looked!

Made a trip to get some plants last night. I bought a bag of eco-complete which I combined with the substrate from my 37 gal which was part Flourite (dark) and part pea gravel. After some rearranging, here's the current full plant list:

Ludwigia
Crypt Lucens
Crypt Spiralis
Rotala Rotundifolia
Crypt Wendtii green
Java Moss
Sagittara Subulata
Chain Sword
Hygrophila corymbosa
Echinodorus bleheri
Echinodorus amazonicus
Anubias Barteri Coffeefolia

Thanks, guys! I worked on it quite a few hours yesterday. Will post some more pics in a couple of days once everything settles in. Water parameters staying pretty steady so far today. Hope it stays that way!
