55g planted...updated finally 7/17/07

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I think the fish definitely know something's up when the camera comes out....except mine don't hide, they get all excited and start swimming around in front of the camera at 100 mph so that I can't get a decent shot. Then I put the camera away and they sit there as still as can be.

Tank looks great! Hope the new plants I sent do well for you too.

Thanks...the tall Hygro is on the left hand side and the other hygro is beside it. It was a little sad looking from shipping, but it should perk up soon.

The Limnophia aromatica is to the left of the java ferns...it was a little light in color. I hope it does well in this tank. If not, I'll move it to the 29g which grows higher light plants a little better for some reason.

Thanks for the plants! I forgot that I took that last picture after I put the plants in from you...sorry I didn't mention you newfound!

Give the Limno some time, it took a while for it to really get going in my tank, but when it does, it'll look great. I think one of the stems I sent you was still mostly green, they get red when they get closer to the lights. Mine are a dark magenta/purple and are gorgeous.

Will do. I put it in a place where it shouldn't get shaded, so maybe it will come around and start growing a little. My rotala is the same way...gets pinkish near the light. My other plants seem to love the Eco, so hopefully it will do the Limno some good. My crypts exploded with growth...its great!

Thanks Jchillin. I've come to love the jungle look as I'm sure you can tell! I like structured tanks as well, but for mine, I want a nice jungle. My fish will love it...especially when it grows in more.

Ok got some more pictures....I'm sure you all are excited!

The plants are slowly growing...and the blue sponge is almost covered up. Please excuse any blurryness or water spots! I should get my Red Sea Turbo CO2 tomorrow so I'll update again after I add it and if the growth speeds up. I added in a terra cotta pot for my Bolivian (who could care less) and my yoyos and cories. I'm going to put more crypts in front of it eventually.

Enjoy!

New pictures!

hygro "ceylon"

I have more crypt wendtiis and some crypt walkeri for the midground...plus some baby tears coming on Friday. Hopefully I can get the spaces filled in. Especially around the terra cotta pot...which sticks out like a sore thumb! I also need to get more java ferns for the driftwood...or some moss...but I haven't yet. Everything is growing in nicely!

Beautiful! Nice healthy fish and plants. Fill in the spaces? I don't see alot of spaces! With growth like that you won't have any spaces for much longer. :)
