I have never had a live plant (besides a moss ball). I'm getting anubias and java fern, do I have to worry about them throwing my water quality off when I first add them? If so, what's the best way to add plants? Fyi, my tank is not set up yet, I planned on getting it cycled and then adding the plants, is this the correct way to do it?

Plants will HELP your water quality. I add my plants as soon as I get them. My tanks cycle faster. Or I may get a "Silent" cycle.

I agree, plants are good and help things along. When you get fish they will really be helpful as the fish waste fertilizes them.

When you add those two plants make sure to tie them to a piece of driftwood, decor, or a rock so you do moy burry the rhizome.
