i bought 2 packs of plants from wal-mart (they were cheap, and they have a garentee)..it says i just need light, what else would i need to have my plants survive and thrive?

Lighting is the most important factor in growing plants. I would suggest at least 2WPG. What type of plants did you buy?

I am not familiar with these bulbs. I don't know if they are true aquatic plants. Did it say on the package?

yeppers, it says for aquariums, and it was in the fish isle..so i hope so..im just gonna add a couple next water change, see how it turns out..thnx guys

They are a medium watt aquatic plant which can sometimes grow under relativly low light, but not well. It's sold as a dry bulb.
