So I have recently been noticing the growth of some hair like algae in my tank, could anyone tell me what it is and what would be the best ways of removing it.

As well here are some specs of my tank:
55 gallon tank, setup about 7 months ago.
Fluval c4 HOB filter
T5 HO lights 2x 6700k
Regular doses of Flourish Excel 2x a week 5ml

Looks like black beard algae aka BBA. Try to dose the excel daily. When you do dose it get a syringe and squirt it underwater right at the algae. It will turn red and die off. If you don't have a syringe go to a pharmacy and ask them. You don't need a needle, just the syringe. That technique has worked for me before.
