what is this and how to i remove it?

Remove as much of it as you can. Then work on consistent high CO2 levels, and a good fertilization plan.

do you think i just have to much light? Would hanging the light a couple of ft above the aquarium be benaficial? Also i think when i add the ferts starting tommarow then everything should be under control

The ferts should certainly help. The height of the light won't matter much. How much light and what size tank is it? Start a good dosing plan and stay on top of your CO2 and your tank should do well. CO2 and an abundance of nutrients is the key to beating algae. Dense planting also helps a lot.

the tank is a 54 gallon corner tank and the light is a double linear strip w/ 2 65 wat lamps 6700k 30in

Cool you are half way there. Start a good EI plan and you should soon have a happy and good looking tank.
