I like the look of most of the Val I have found, but they all seem to be really sensative to Excel. I was wondering if anyone knows of some alternatives that have a similar look, but not the weakness of getting destoryed when you dose excel.

A few possibles I have found include,

Hygrophila Salicifolia
Echinodorus Angustifolius
Cyperus helferi
Blyxa aubertii (but according to plantgeek, it shares the same weakness for excel)

Just curious if there are any more out there that I might have missed.

I probably should mention I'm looking for a back drop. Are there any sagittaria that are on the taller end of things?

There are quite a few varieties other than the Narrow Leaf and Dwarf that you usually find in the LFS. I'm pretty sure that one of these would work for your situation, but I don't know right off which specific ones you'd want to look at.

H. corymbosa "Angustifolia"
C. spiralis or retrospiralis
Java Fern "Needle-leaf" or "Narrow-leaf"
Isoetes sp. (except thinner, stiffer, and cooler.)
