My ambulia is doing find -- looks quite healthy, but every 5-7 days it takes off from the ground and becomes a floating plant and then that particular branch looks all its healthy look.

How do you guys keep Ambulia rooted? I have 4 cory cats who laways hang near the Ambulia -- I am guessing their digging activity is the culprit -- but was curious if anything needs to be done to keep it rooted in the substrate (I use sand as subtrate which might be the other problem)

TIA

It could be the sand. I have Ambulia planted in gravel and I have 12 cories in the tank and it stays put. I think the gravel may be heavy enough to hold it down when the cories dig around the substrate.

I also have some big plant tweezers that I got from drsfosterandsmith.com and they help to shove the plants under the substrate. Maybe some of those would help you get the stems in there to where they would stay. :)
