Anachris

In a brilliant newbie move, I bought a bunch of anachris without doing any research at all. I knew I had heard it mentioned many times here and the fish guy said it would grow in a low light tank. I thought when I opened the wrapping around the stems I would find them to be all connected and they would have some roots. What I got were a number of individual stems with no roots in sight. Is this what they're supposed to look like? I just stuck the stems into the sand and crossed my fingers.

Nothing to worry about. Stem plants can be trimmed at any point along the stalk and replanted. The new section will sprout roots.
