Aquasoil question

I want to purchase some aquasoil for my 10 gal new planted tank. Going for high tech with lighting and ferts. Is 3L enough for a 10gal? Also do I need to cap it? If so would flourite work for the cap?

I have a 30 gal planted tank with flourite red gravel and flourite black sand as a cap. You do not have to cap the substrate, I only did it to better please the eye. IMO

The formula is usually 2 pounds of substrate to every gallon of water which gives you a 2 inch thick substrate. So for a 10g tank I'd say you need 20 pounds of substrate.

I would just leave it the way it is, capping usually gets ugly if you like to play around with your tank a lot. I never liked mixing substrates.

I have 3 liters of aquasoil in my mini m and it is perfect. You might want more than 3 liters for a 10, but it depends on the depth you want. For me, 3 liters was about 2 inches.

Don't cap it. It's a stand alone substrate.

I wouldn't cap it either unless you want it to be pleasing to the eye....

IMO Aquasoil is already one of the best looking substrates available.
