Saw a plant called baby tears on a small peice of lava rock at petco. I hate buying anything alive from petco but thought this would look great if I could get it to cover my lava rocks. Is this possible with low-medium lighting? If so, any special requirements?

LiveAquaria says it is a high-light plant that benefits from CO2 dosing. Would probably do fine in a low light setup if it was floating but... I'm new to plants so I'd wait for someone more knowledgable before you make a decision.

I can tell you that my GBRs really enjoyed shredding mine to bits.

IME, it'll grow ok in lower light, but gets laggy. In high light, it stays very short and fine leaved. Here's a pic of mine in a 55g with a standard 2 bulb shop light over it...

And a 10g with a standard 15w T8 bulb (ignore the algae):

Thank you for the input! I didnt realize it got so bushy. I'm looking more for something to just cover the rocks. Any ideas?
