Black Beard Algae

I have been having problems with BBA for a few months now and was wondering if anyone had any tips. I have treated with Excel and gotten rid of it for a few weeks but it keeps coming back. Do I need to go to a Co2 system to keep it in check or can I go with a cheaper fix. I only have my lights on for around 7 hrs a day.
