i got it in 2 pots and i took them both out and split them in half to sperate them with ...i was wondering will these plants spread out so it will look like a grass carpet..? or do they just grow up and not around..?

They will fill an entire space and then begin to creep into your other plants as long as they get what they need. Its not an overwhelmingly fast process though. With the correct nutrients c02 etc, it should take about 2-3 months to get a full carpet. Acicularis isnt that short of a growing plant though. Expect individual strands to grow at least 2-3 inches upward. Easily trimmed though.

Hope this helps
