I have a 50 gallon tank with 2 -36" T8 25 watt tubes overdriven. There is a large piece of driftwood and a smaller one and low light plants that grow very well. I leave the light on for 8 hours a day. Brush algae grows primarily on the wood and I have been keeping it under control by picking some off or applying hydrogen peroxide to it. A little bit grows on some of the leaves as well but not too bad. It actually looks pretty cool on the wood as long as it doesn't get out of control. What is annoying though is I will see some small tufts of it on the gravel and it is attached to the rocks because I can't suck it up with my vac because it is too heavy so I have to pick it out by hand. I dose excel every other day and flourish once a week. Any advice to prevent this or to keep it minimized?
