I have been using thus device for about 2 months now. the device lowers the kh of my waters, but my question is :
1. can it be that it is raising my gh ?
2. if he changes the kh so how can i calaulate my co2 ?

thanks in advance

hi tank girl,

first - thanks for the quick reply :D

second - the links u gave me mainly discuss the cost effective of the device

i am very pleased from the unit & my plant love it very much

i am asking somebody who has the device to answer my question please 8)

I don't have the device but I can answer your questions.

1. I do not believe Gh is raised using a carbo plus unit. Its is possible, since the stripping of Kh from the water would give you calcium, and carbonate molecules...carbon then being delivered to the plants. However most of the calcium is deposited onto the metal plate in the carbo plus unit...not mixed into the water. so I don't feel you'd see a visible increase in Gh on a test kit.
2. You can still use the normal ph/kh chart for CO2. Since your actual Kh is being reduced, its still accurate. When you add strong acids or other buffers, they will skew your pH or kh test results, invalidating the chart.

Hope that helps
